We lost our step Father, Lawrence  "Larry" Roberts, he was a Son, Brother, Husband, Friend and Father due to complications from Sickle-Cell Anemia Disease. Larry passed away  leaving his Widow Marilyn Roberts, our Mother, and his  Daughter Lisa Roberts, along with his step kids Keith "Kayjay", Tonya, Nancy, Joe "Dynamax" Roberts, & Anthony Amir Roberts. My Mother has always spoke very passionately about her Husband and she loved him dearly.   She watched him write many great songs.  The O'Jays would come over to the house,  she would be in the kitchen cooking, preparing food and they would be in the living room harmonizing & creating  new music. Larry was most famous for his works that sold Millions since his passing.  His catalog consist of a vast range of legends like, Eddie Kendricks, from The Temptations, The O'jays , & The Moments to name a few.   He wrote, produced, composed, arranged and also  sang with his Doo wop Group 'Larry and The Standards'.   He Continued  writing for Latino legend Ralfi Pagan, better known as 'Ray Page'. A Major detail Larry  wrote extensively, side by side with The Late Queen of Hip Hop, Sylvia Robinson,  from Sugar Hill Records.  This was a prequel to her Rap artist producing years and before her soul album "pillow talk". Larry was also very instrumental in finding Billy Brown, who became one of the voices of 'The Moments'.  He was quick to thank Larry for the opportunity that changed his life forever!

Larry also had different versions of his music sang by other groups such as The Escorts. & Implements, He would collaborate with other writers and producers like George Kerr on songs like,  I'm So Glad  I found you', & 'Look over  your Shoulder', which ended up being sampled by Jill Scott for her song,  'Family Reunion', on her Lp titled "Beautiful Human Words and Sounds vol.2". The song 'Not on the outside' was covered by a few singers like Oran Juice Jones and Alyson Williams  who were Def Jam artists, and the Melody was used by Jaheim for his song '125th' off the album ''Ghetto Classics'. De la Soul sampled 'So this is our goodbye' written by Larry Roberts & Sylvia Robinson, and Sung by The Moments.  De la Soul used it for their track 'Brainwash Followers' from their 1st album "3 feet high and rising". (Tommy Boy Records) Ghost  Face Killah, from the Wu Tang Clan, used 'Not on the Outside' which was also written by Larry Roberts/Sylvia Robinson & sung by The Moments.  Ghost Face Killah used it for the interlude called 'Bathtub Skit' on his "The Pretty Toney Album" ( Def Jam Records) The Game sampled 'Look over your Shoulder',  written by George Kerr/Larry Roberts and sung by The Escorts.  The Game used it on the song 'Olivia' off the Mix Tape Lp "You know what this is vol.3" and released on the label 'Black Wall Street'.   PeteRock, Buckshot, w/ Smif and Wesson sampled "Not on the outside "  for their song  'Night Time' performed by Sylvia Robinson and written by her and Larry Roberts  We are very Honored of all the RnB & Hip Hop Artist that used our step Dad's music! We are also very excited for the next generation to keep the music alive everywhere and the Dj's keeping the music in  rotation  on the Radio,  Internet and in the TV/Movie world!
